A series of online workshops for MPhils, PhDs and Postdocs to explore the use of creative methodologies in research practice. The 2025 cycle was concluded.

About the series

These workshops focused on creative methodologies as alternative ways of being, thinking, and doing within the academy. Our aim was to foster a collaborative space where doctoral students and creative practitioners could come together to experiment, innovate, and reimagine the ways in which research is conducted and expressed.

By inviting a diverse group of poets, graphic novelists, creative writers, artists, and filmmakers to lead semi-structured workshops, we managed to challenge traditional academic practices. Together, we explored new methods of expression and representation, unlocking fresh perspectives for engaging with complex, multi-layered, and intersectional topics. We believe this space cultivated transformation and collective healing.

2025 Theme

Our theme for 2025 was Interconnected Oppressions: Exploring Intersectional Experiences through Creative Expressions. Through this theme, we sought to understand how creative methods could help researchers navigate intersectional oppressions and create spaces for transformation and healing.
