We’re investigating the construction of anti-Haitianism as a particular kind of anti-black racism.

This project amplifies the significance of Haiti and its people’s ongoing struggle against racialised systemic inequalities.

We are bringing together key scholars to develop accessible curricula and a public campaign that positions anti-Haitianism as a critical framework for understanding global racisms. We are also experimenting with fostering and sustaining collaborative relationships among these scholars while opening their work to global dialogue.

Anti-black and anti-Haitian perspectives skew much of our grounding work in the social sciences and humanities, and so it is necessary to develop alternative, decolonial approaches.
